Ua Hawai'i
UA Hawai‘i: Natural Skincare Rooted in Island Heritage
UA Hawai‘i carries on a family tradition of natural skincare, first created over 30 years ago by cofounder Leala Humbert’s mother, Alice. Inspired by Hawai‘i’s rain (“ua”), the brand reflects nature’s healing and nurturing power.
Today, Leala and her husband Blaine handcraft lotions, soaps, body butters, and dry oils in small batches at their Waimea workshop. Their Heritage Collection stays true to Alice’s original clean, vegan formulas, while the Essentials Collection introduces new herbal infusions and botanical blends. Using native Hawaiian ingredients like kukui oil, mango butter, and aloe, Ua Body products deeply hydrate, soothe, and protect skin.
Sustainability & Community Impact
UA Hawai‘i (formerly Ua Body Hawa'i) supports local agriculture by sourcing island-grown ingredients and reducing waste with sustainable packaging and a refill program. The company donates 1.5% of sales to organizations such as Nahelehele, Ho‘ola Ka Makana‘ā o Ka‘ūpūlehu, and the Hawai‘i Conservation Alliance to protect native forests and ecosystems. All products are made locally, providing jobs and keeping manufacturing in Hawai‘i.
