Aloha Modern - Lehua Microfiber Towel
Mo‘olelo (Storytelling)
The endemic ʻōhiʻa lehua tree and blossom are an integral part of Native Hawaiian culture. It is mentioned throughout history listening to Hawaiian moʻolelo and ʻoli. One moʻolelo tells a story of ‘Ōhi‘a, a handsome man who caught the attention of Pele, but was in love with a woman named Lehua. Enraged with jealousy, Pele turned ‘Ōhi‘a into a twisted tree. Crying to the gods for a way to be with her lover, Lehua was turned into a beautiful flower, forever to be an adornment on the twisted tree. It is said to never pick a lehua without permission, as it rains in sadness when she is picked from her ‘ōhi‘a.
