      About Tea Chest Hawaii

Byron Goo is an experienced executive with a demonstrated history of working in the food and beverage industry. He sensed a rebirth of tea brewing in America and launched Tea Chest Hawaii in 1995. As a craft tea maker, Byron has created award-winning products and has helped local farmers cultivate tea and other crops that can be used in his blends.

Tea Chest Hawaii was one of the first USDA-certified organic food manufacturers in the state and continues to support sustainable, organically grown agriculture around the globe. Its tea team has a passion for refined taste and a distinct sense of place. Their mission is to craft products with great flavor, all while making people happy. Using only natural, organic and sustainable ingredients, Tea Chest Hawaii formulates products that are good for you and the planet. Today the O‘ahu-based company has several brands of tea including Hawaiian Natural Tea, Mamaki among a few others.

      How they give back:

The Tea Chest draws on decades-long relationships with local farmers to source fresh ingredients to create its delicious teas.

The company also runs “communi-tea” service initiatives such as providing professional training within both the hospitality industry and University of Hawai‘i culinary programs to help elevate product knowledge and service standards. They also helped to foster a “communi-tea” of tea growers around the islands, and have been recognized for their work by the Small Business Administration (SBA).

Additionally, the Tea Chest has partnered with Kamehameha Schools to provide meaningful internships for students since 2012.
